Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering above a crowded coastal beach suddenly began spiraling uncontrollably, ultimately descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Footage shared on the internet show the aircraft commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck amidst palm groves and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility comprising a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
